Position Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Product Development, the Product Owner is responsible for understanding market and customer needs and translating them into clear, actionable requirements for the Engineering team. Additionally, the Product Owner will support Channel Partners for white-label or API solutions.

You will act as a customer advocate and, using your strong leadership skills, work collaboratively with our Agile software development team and other stakeholders—including Product Management, Customer Success, Channel Partnerships, and our leadership team—to create best-in-class products. You will be responsible for defining requirements and evaluating development progress to ensure that our solutions deliver valuable business outcomes and position Agility PR Solutions as a technology leader in the PR industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the voice of the client within the Agile software development team
• Develop scope and define backlog items (epics, features, user stories) that guide the development team
• Solve product-related challenges, make trade-off decisions, and ensure alignment with business objectives
• Possess a deep understanding of end-to-end customer experience, product integration, and dependencies
• Collaborate with stakeholders during product visioning and concept development
• Prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure maximum business value is achieved
• Work with Product Marketing to articulate the product’s value and positioning
• Develop detailed specifications for product features, ensuring clarity for the development teams
• Support the Channel Partner Sales team by onboarding new partners and assisting with API integration and issue resolution

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner in an Agile environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience working with SaaS products and API integrations
• Demonstrated experience using data analytics, web analytics, A/B testing, and other quantitative techniques to guide product decisions
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both external users and internal teams
• Proficiency in Wireframing/Prototyping and User Testing tools
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence
• A problem solver who can navigate challenges and find hybrid solutions that meet stakeholder needs
• Self-starter with strong leadership, project planning, and organizational skills
• Data-driven mindset, using insights to inform decision-making
• Curious and experimental approach, collecting feedback at every stage to refine solutions
• Experience within the PR software and newswire industry is an asset
